Any Interest In This T85N-1A?

Hello,
As you may know, I newly inherited a '56 F100. In an effort to fulfill and keep someone's dream alive, I am wondering if anyone has an interest in the pictured transmission.
I hope it finds a match soon...
Thank you for looking,
Paul

That appears to be an overdrive transmission, which would be fairly valuable if it works or is rebuildable.

You shouldn't have any trouble getting rid of it, considering all the applications it has.

T-85N = 3 Speed Borg Warner manual trans with O/D. This trans is becoming very difficult to find.

Optional in: 1965/71 F100's w/240/300 I-6's & 352/360/390's ~ 1961/64 Galaxie 352/390 ~ 1965/67 Galaxie/LTD 352.

Also used in 1955/56 Packards and Nash/Hudson's w/Packard V8's / 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk (Packard V8) / 1959/63 Studebaker 259/289 V8 1/2 ton trucks / 1942/48 Lincoln Zephyr & Continental / 1949/51 Lincoln and etc.

The solenoid is on the right (passenger) side, you're looking at governor (Swartzenegger) on the left side (where he belonged from the get-go!). He's prolly wishing he hadn't made a kid with his staffer!

The tail housing at least is not from a 65-71 Ford truck. I can't tell from the angle of the picture if the transmission case is dual pattern or not. Most likely it is from a big block sedan.

T-85s are very tough transmissions, and the R11 overdrive on the back is beefier than the regular R10. This combo is much stronger than the average B-W overdrive.

Hmm...the pic is kinda dark, so I cannot make out a flange on the tailshaft for a car trans mount, or a flange on the O/D unit itself for the F100's trans mount.

Maybe it's from a Hash, what peeps of the H-E-T (Hudson-Essex-Terraplane aka Dudson-Assache-Terriblepain) Club call 1955/57 Hudsons on the Nash bodyshell.

I think I make out the flat on the tailshaft housing where the mount goes.

Quazy, is there a handle under the dash marked "Overdrive"?

The F-100 tail housing ended just behind the governor. I had two of these in '66 pickups. The dual patter case looks like this:
