BF Goodrich T/A KO

Order for myself 4 of BF Goodrich T/A KO. I realize they are 10 ply, but the guy at discounttire.co convinced me to try them on and see if I like the feel. Guess I get 30 days to try them out. If I do not like them, I think will go with Cooper Discoverer T/A 3.
Now to shop around for some brake pads that will not spew brake dust over my nice white lettering
And then will come front-end lift, a new grill (for a face lift); cold air intake...guess I better go apply for that second job.

I have the same tire in the 285/65/18 size and they are a great tire. I have 25,000 miles on them and they are around 50% tread. They are wearing good and are pretty quiet on the road. I run mine at 48lbs and the ride is stiff compaired to the OE's, but it is a truck and I don't mind it.

I run the BFG's on my 09 and dont have any issues with them, the ride is a little stiffer but that doesnt bother me at all.

I ran 10 ply general grabber at2s on the ranger and no issues with tread wear or anything. Stiffer ride that's all. Currently have 8 ply on the f150 and no complaints.

Consider mounting them with the white lettering facing in. IMO they look great.

U ever think about Hancook, they make a nice A/T. I've had both and seems like the bfg dont last as long and more expensive.

I ran BFGs for years, but they just got too pricey.

Are the Dynapro's 10 ply or lower? I will check em out if I do not like the BFBs.

I do not recall if they were or not? I think they were, but I would have to check that out!

After a quick check i have ATM RF10 tires and it sounds as if the 10 represents the 10 ply tire.

I have the same BFG 285/65/18 rotate every 5,000 to 7,500 miles and have 58,000 miles on this set of tires.

Dear fordman,
48 lbs., is that too much air pressure for a light truck tire?
I currently have on the Hankook ATM's, and I am only running about 35 psi.

I would love to jack up the air pressure, for a possible MPG gain.
(i really don't care about ride quality either, hey its a truck right!)
Tony.

I'm running Nitto Terra Grapplers 275 70 18's 10 ply @ 55# psi on my '04 s/c lariat. Ride is firm, traction is good in winter on ice and snow, we'll see about mud later this month when fishing starts. I aired down to 45# in icy conditions.
I do quite a bit of gravel on Forest service roads and ran BFG AT KO's for years. Still one of the best on the road, imho.

Got them installed today. Ride seemed a bit firmer and a bit more noise than the stockers. Although the stockers I had were down to the nub. My other daily driver is a jeep that bounce around way too much. So, this does not bother me one bit. I think I will keep em.

I ordered a pair of Wagner Thermoquiet to fix the brake dust issue.

This is a timely topic for me... I just had a set of BFG AT KO's put on last weekend in 275/70R18. Will be towing a 7K lb trailer about 2200 miles round trip in a few weeks, and have been wondering about tire pressure.

Even with the trailer, I will be nowhere close to the rated load limit of these tires, so I don't think I need to be at 80 PSI, which is what is on the sidewall. I'm thinking maybe 55-60?

The crappy stock tires had a max tire pressure of 35 PSI, so I'm not used to the higher pressure of a load range E tire...

it's probably a little overkill, but I've always had problems with the sidewalls wearing funny when I run tires with open lugs on the sides. So I decided to run more pressure to keep some more of the weight off the sides, it seems to be working. I know the centers will wear a little faster, but at the rate I'm going I should easily get 50k out of these tires and I'm happy with that.
Also I hate alot of sidewall bulge and the higher pressure cures that too.
