First off why open carry any weapon. This isn't 1876 and there aren't anymore "cowboys" despite much to the disappointment to many in Wyoming. It's an invitation for someone to take your weapon and use it on you or a look at me I'm a wanna be bad *** attitude. The only excuse for it is LEO's. CCW is the way to go. Never let them see you coming.
Because the constitution in my state says I have the right to do so. Anyone who doesn't approve does not have to open carry. I see you are part of the Sheeple herd that runs rampant here in the US. Compare the crime rate of 2011 vs 1876.

Lifted trucks are primarily for looks. Some people need the lift for offroad driving. For towing a lift is not ideal.

I didn't say anything about not carrying. I fact I do most times when in public. I just don't advertise or feel the need to wear my ***** on my hip. Just because you can do something doesnt mean its a good idea to do it. You choose to advertise and call attention to it thats your choice. That is what makes this country great. Also compare the population rate of today versus 1876. The more you throw in the mix the more crime you see. I do believe an armed society is a polite society. But its when we get jackwagons waiving it in everyones face that makes it bad for ALL of us and then we see more legislation that we don't need.

You fellows make good points, but I just don't see what any of this has to do with the price of eggs? I just spent $3.89 for a dozen large grade A eggs and $4.39 for 4 liters of milk. OK, maybe revealing a gun may have gotten me a good discount (maybe even free), but I have a serious crush the sweetheart cashier and I want her think I'm a soft hearted gentleman until I get her naked. That's when the cuffs'N'guns come out. When I'm on the road I don't need a gun. I let my truck do the talking.

If it wasn't such a hassle to legally carry a pistol here I would probably seriously consider having one with me. Only for saftey sake,,, just in case kind of thing, but I have to add that there was a point in my life when I was much younger I know that it was more than likely best I didn't have one.

In any case,,, don't be hate'n. We're all Comrades here are we not? With a few exceptions of course. We gassers know the diesel guys are kinda retarded.

I open carried for several years in the middle east. Once you've done that you know what you can do with a weapon. Just because you can do something doesn't mean its a good idea to do it. There are two rules up here.

1. Never open carry a semi-automatic pistol why wearing Western clothing.

Ha, this is great! Different parts of the country just have different expectations. The son of a friend of mine who worked as a bank teller said he just about crapped in his pants the first time a customer came in wearing a holster belt with a BIG old six shooter in it! Texas, I think....

It's mostly looks for most average joes BUT I like the look and if done right mileage doesn't suffer. For people like me the height and clearance is perfect (for the people who turn in front of you) freaks them out, especially at night with the cab lights on (OHH CRAP.......SEMI) better get out of the way! But I off road on the side.

Hey,,,, woooh there.

I'm not an idiot nor do I look like an idiot when driving my truck. I feel like a god and I must look like a god when I pull up beside a Prius in my Canadian Redneck beast of pleasure and pain.
But I recently found out that I might be gay because I like ABBA.
I'll have to be carefull the next time I'm driving my truck while listening to ABBA. Singing along to Dancing Queen with the windows down might look a bit odd to some people.

What's the point of any customization really? What's the point of having all the available options? The answer is simple. Because we can!

The guy that wrote the original article is a moron and probably is bashing the lifted truck owner because he either can't afford to buy a truck and lift it or his pant wearing wife just wont let him and he's bitter. Either way it's kind of sad that a person would put that much effort in bashing another driver just because of the type of vehicle they drive. He probably hate pet's and old people too

Lifted trucks may not be the most practical for driving around on the pavement but when someones little Honda runs through a stop sign into my lifted truck I'm probably not the one who will be sorry.
