Ha alright rdt is out

This thing has two short up pipes like a powerstroke instead of a crossover pipe. Is that beneficial?

well its got a plate that bolts to the back of the pass side head that holds the turbo up. and a brace that bolts to some of the intake bolts.

it has a home made intake hat, and airfilter tube using the original aircleaner that sits over by the driver side batt thats gonna find a trashcan soon.

sweet! ive noticed with my 35's on a steep hill if im doing 30-50 in 4th gear it pulls like theres tons of torque, but up on past that it seems like its working harder like its running out of air. im hoping the turbo will help keep my freeway egt's lower and give me a little more speed while towing.

oh and that motor i bought came with a brand new turbo ip with the torque screw......and injectors.....those will be going on too.

If I remember right, one of the Banks kits used the stock air filter.
But I also thought Banks used the Mitsubishi turbo on all of their kits.

The CDR will not work backwards.

Road draft tube, not really a good idea in my opinion.

I don't ever recall Banks using the stock air cleaner but HYPERMAX does. The Sidewinder is Mitsubishi.

I guess I'll get a piece of 3" pipe weld two studs on it cut a hole in the middle connect one endto the turbo inlet and an airfilter on the other end for the cdr then run a hose fromtye bottom ofthe cdr to the valve cover. That would work?

How big of an oil line does it need? This ones kinda small like brake line. The turbo has no play and spins Pretty free not too much drag. I want to fix all the rigged up stuff I don't do things like that b

Care to explain? I'm putting the trans back in my truck tomorrow and along with a oil change, I planned to either clean the CDR or make a RDT.

Banks used to use a filter similar the the stock air filter but it was rectangular, not round.

Ive had both cdr and rdt on my truck and like others have posted, I really didnt like having smoke pouring out from under my truck. It got annoying when people would pull up alongside me all the time and tell me my truck was on fire. I also got sick of smelling crankcase fumes in my cab.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but on the CDR vs RDT issue.. I'm contemplating replacing the CDR with a filter. I've looked at the Provent and Racor CCV (crankcase vent) units, but at the price, and without knowing anyone thats put one on an IDI, I'm hesitant.

Supposedly they're loved on the powerstrokes, keeps out of the intercooler. Also popular to modify the CCV on VW TDI's. They have a problem both with oil getting in the intercooler and making a mess, and also with the oily residue combining with soot from the EGR causing clogged intakes. A guess a big problem with the TDI's is freezing in cold weather, but my thoughts are A) I'm surprised there is so much water venting from the crankcase and B) TDI's are much smaller engines, so less blowby and heat generated might keep the filter cold. The filters are designed to be used on larger diesel engines in both trucks and a marine setting.

Any thoughts?

All I know is that after cleaning my CDR, its still dumping oil into the turbo intake, and its making a mess of my engine (working its way out of the turbo and dripping all over) I'd rather not make a huge mess (and environmental issues) with a RDT, but I'm not convinced a new CDR will stop the problem either.
PS, my truck has 200K on original injectors and pump, added an ATS 093 turbo last winter. Engine runs great (though feels worn with the old pump/injectors) and recently seems to have burned at least 3 quarts since I changed the oil in september.
