I mentioned before, the headrest attachment didn't work for us because my wife can't sit still, constantly playing with the seat adjustment, up-down, forward-back reline all the way and back up etc.

Thanks, I saw that in the earlier post. At this time between my wife and me, our seats stay pretty stationary. Our dog is not a long distance trooper like yours appears to be. He stays pretty nervous when we are driving, and rarely settles down. Our catch-22 we want to take longer trips with the dog, but our dog is not a long trip traveler.
So I am thinking that the headrest as a anchor point with a bungee cord will work the easiest. Maybe I will be proven wrong. Our dog is 11 years old and he is not a wild rambunctious pup anymore. He just needs a gentle but solid reminder that the back seat is his place, and the front seats our our place. He is big enough that he probably will not try to climb over it.
I just don't need to be trying to keep him from being a front seat lap dog while I am trying to drive.
