460 Oil Filter Fittings

Does anyone know if this part is something you can Buy? It is the middle fitting in the first Picture. I was at U-Pullit and got a oil filter angle adaptor off an 89 f250 460 and just removed the Big Fastener...Left - The Piece that holds the adaptor on, Took that, the Angle Adapter and Oil Cooler. When I Got home and pulled off my fitting....right one - to find out that the Fastener...Left ..wouldnt fit. I serched the internet over to find no information on this until I saw this..Second Picture....To make a long story short, I went back the the junkyard - 50 miles each way - and got the fitting - Middle - out of the block i took the filter adapter from. I havent went to the Ford Dealer yet, as I got the right fitting, but I was suprised at the lack of info on the internet about this fitting - The Middle One.

I just posted before Christmas to remind someone to remember to remove it.

The oil filter points toward the lower radiator hose to clear the 4x4 front crossmember.
You need to take it out of the block with a large unchamfered socket.
(Don't ask how I know this... )

LOL, I wish I would have seen that before I went to the Junk Yard the first time. I ended up scavanging a few more parts while there, along with that Fitting. I think I used an 1 1/4 deepwell socket to get it out.

Problem Im having now, is trying to get the drivers side engine perch off the frame. Its riveted on to the crossmember. I ground of the heads and cant pound the dang rivets out, They wont let us bring a torch into the junk yard either.

Try drilling a hole (smaller than your punch) into the end to give the metal somewhere to go.
Then when you hit with a punch you're not just making it tighter.

Thanks! I guess I should have asked before heading back to the U-Pullit yard. Probly spent about $25.00 in fuel going back to get it

Maybe this will help someone else out down the road if they ever decide to pull a diesel out and put in a 460!!
