Ok guys, the wife and I just bought a nice clean 2003 6.0L excursion 2wd. when stoped at a light, the tail pipe rattles against the fuel tank shield. Any suggestions on what to put between them, or how to stop it?

Is it stock exhaust? Are all the hanger bushings intact?

 

Make sure it is the exhaust pipe. I had a intermittant rattle at lower RPM's and it ended up being a cracked down pipe or Y pipe at the flex on my turbo. It is in the shop right now getting fixed. My friend had the same problem with his and others post that it is a common problem. With mine I also started smelling exhaust when I put the A/C on the vent option. Hope yours was cheaper than mine to fix. Have to remove turbo to get the the pipe on mine.

 

Hangers are good, all 4 inch exhaust, no odd smells and when you pull the tip away from the tank it stops. Any ideas I'll check out and try.
