Warranty

I have a 2007 Ford F-350. Ford dealership says I can purchase the extended warranty out to 200K. The truck currently has no problems @ 99600 miles. Dealership says this warranty covers the Motor only and cost $2750.00. Owners Your Thoughts.

Thanks In Advance.

You can shop other dealers and save several hundred. Make sure it's a Ford ESP warranty.

I've attached a copy of Ford's extended diesel engine care warranty FYI.

I'll be purchasing this warranty in the next few days as well.

PS: You can find it elsewhere for $500 less than the quote you mentioned.

I'm looking at the same thing right now as well.... I've only got 50k, but I'm about a month short of 5 years. The quote I got from the 1-800 phone number is ~$400 less than what you were given.

Go here -

Get Quote | Ford Extended Service Plan | FLMowner.com

You can check to see if you vehicle qualifies... mine didn't online, but they gave me a 1-800 number at that point.

Diffently shop around. I called a few places. Found a dealership that will sell the 7yr 200k warranty for $2120.00 I had no Idea there was a mark up on these. Thought price was set in stone from Ford.

Thanks for the advice.

Purchasing an ESP is no different than buying a new vehicle, the price is nagotialable. I never pay full price, I always heckel with them to get it down. The best I have done so far was 800 bucks off of the asking price.

I would definately get it (but at the best price). So far my '05 has been in for 3 Oil Coolers, High Pressure Oil Screen and it's currently in getting the High pressure oil system replaced. Just got the call that it also needs head gaskets. Glad all this has been on their dime!!

You don't even need to buy an extended warranty through a Ford dealer. You can cut out the middle man and purchase one online. Find a good deal and call your Ford dealer and ask if they will deal with that warranty company. It's like medical insurance because doctors will take insurance from many different companies.

I just mailed off the check. $2,020 + 6% tax = $2,141.20

It seems the price of these 2yr/200kmile DieselCare warranties have increased significantly over the past year or two. I recall people getting them bought for $1,400.

OMG!!! 3 Oil Coolers? Did they replace the EGR Coolers as well? Now Head Gaskets?! I don't think I would have much confidence in that particular vehicle after all of that! That is to say, with out knowing the back ground. No offense intended. (I can just hear my wife....)

I just had my EGR Cooler go. So Oil Cooler and EGR Cooler were changed. Parts, labor etc 2600.00. Do that X3, and then a head Gasket Job?

Heck! R&R the Engine!

Eric
