6.4s and Alternators.
I believe ive seen numerous posts about dead batterie/replaced alternators.
What is the deal with our trucks and eating alts???
Mine was replaced a couple weeks ago, and I got an oasis report today on my truck and saw it was done once before as well. (only have 30,000miles)
(Oasis also showed radiator was replaced, upper rad hose, and then the Venturi T installed.)

I have not heard of Alternators being an issue. Just the batteries.
I have an awful lot to do with the heat in the engine bay.
If your alternator goes back, get a heavy duty higher amps one and that should help.
I have the snow package on my truck, I always get that as it comes with the heavy duty alternator and the higher capacity front springs.
I still have my orginal batteries and alternator.

I ordered a battery blanket from Ford for the driver side. Yeah, I know I could have just wrapped some insulation around it, but what the heck. I replaced my batteries due to the driver side going bad with Red Tops, and the top of the driver side battery has started to raise up in a few areas like round coils, which tells me the heat IS affecting it. red Tops handle heat well, but Im still thinking the blanket is a good idea.
