That's right! Learn from the mistakes. Which is the main reason I bought this truck, to learn with.

I was fined $200 for being under my truck thursday. Property mgmt said "it was an eyesore and other residents were complaining." For one, I was parked away from everyone in the far back corner of the parking lot where not a single drop of oil has ever been spilled. Parked there because one day I was leaned over into the engine compartment taking the breather box off to inspect my air filter and some dumb female driver came in sharp and clipped me with her mirror. She didn't apologize for it. So later that nite I stuck bb's inside the caps of her valve stems to slowly release air pressure from her tires, super glued them in (last place alot of people would look). Teach her to clip me and walk away. And with that being said, I didn't want someone to run over my legs as I was under the truck. Safety third ya'll.

ANYWHO.....Added some 80W to the trans, which the Haynes manual said it required because the tranny was getting a little hard to shift into reverse and was making a slight growl in 1st & 2nd. Cleared that right up but added the fluid was a pain in the rear.

Got to notice that I also have a trans fluid leak at the rear so that's next on the to-do list and I hope that will be an easy fix. The starter went out, free spinned when you hit the ignition and the solenoid was welded to the inner body.

Took me only 15 minutes to change out the starter that i got for $15 at Advanced. Looked at the flywheel and saw that the edges of the teeth are slightly chewed, must've happened from the solenoid being bad like it was causing the starter to engage and grind at it, that's my best guess. But it took me a couple hours to saw thru some metal to get the solenoid detached. Come to find out some wires was loose connecting to it and it kept arcing and eventually self-welded.

Today I hit the key to start it and it did the whole free spin thing again but with a twist: I turned the key back to shut it off and removed it but the starter basically dieseled. Luckily I had my tools with me in the cab and I disconnected the battery to stop it. Don't know what caused that to happen to be honest.

First: I would rather live in a tent in the country, than in a condo in the city.

Just sayin....

Second: A $15 starter? Please explain. I got a good deal on mine at $99.00....

Gary is mule is for doing hard work traditionally. A "rented" mule would be one that someone might be more abusive with than their own mule.

Sorry. Wrong question. I understood what the statement means, sorta like "drive it like you stole it", but I didn't understand what it was referring to. Seemed outta the blue.

Duh! I knew I was missing something, but went back on the posts and it didn't compute. Too obvious.

I installed new wiper bushings today. They were so bad they fell out of the arms. And in the process dropped 3 screws down inside and lost the washer spray nozzle off the cowl. Guess it is time to get the later model cowl and another nozzle from the JY.

I'm amazed how little debris gets through my polka dot cowl.

Was yours full of leaves and muck?
