I did not move her today. Maybe tomorrow so we will see if I get the message again. Have shoulder surgery Tues morning so she will sit for weeks before I drive her again.

No need to fix something that isn't broken. She stands taller than most with her chin up.

Worries me more because both of you are using a fuel conditioner.
Absolutely no problems with warranty. I see no problems using cetane boosters.

I was referring to the Anti-gelling properties that virtually all diesel fuel additive's boast. The few explanations that have been offered to the low pressure warning have been attributed to fuel being gelled in the cold temps. Both of these guys have said they were using some kind of additive (which I am assuming has anti-gelling properties) so how can that be the cause of the the problem?

Glad to hear the low pressure pump was covered in both instances you referred to

Today with an outside temperature of 2 my low fuel pressure message came on after a few miles of driving. Then around mile 10 I got the reduced engine power message. Drove it about 20 miles total then parked it. I don’t use any additives.

I assume from some gelling. A few years ago they mixed the winter blend like chit. It was when the bio-blend diesel came out big in central IL. I went through 3 fuel filters and a few bottles of Power Service 911. It was irritating but the Cummins 5.9 fuel filters were cheap and easy to change out.

OK, I did not drive her the past 2 days. I started her up a few ago (39 degrees) and the son and I headed to Starbucks. Just before I hit the on-ramp, I got the "Low Fuel Pressure" warning again.

As I accelerated normally, she was fine was fine. I got onto the highway and reached 69 MPH. I then pressed the accelerator pedal further (about 1/2 the way down) and had hesitation. She would not accelerate faster. I did not get any further messages or a limp mode etc. I continued driving to and from Starbucks without issue unless I attempted to accelerate hard, then I just got the hesitation but no further messages. She is parked outside now and I go into surgery tomorrow for the rotator cuff and labrum repair (left shoulder).

Could it be as simple as a slightly gelled fuel filter with a block? This never happened last winter and no issues until we had single digit temps this year. Fuel filter was last changed at 10-11K miles (I change it every 10K) and was done by the dealer.

Let us know what you find out. Hopefully this isn't yet another fuel problem we all get to look forward to...

I didn't have any issue with this last winter, even in double digit negatives. I believe it is either a crappy mix of te Bio-Diesel blend fuel that is standard around here or the pump itself (but no codes so I think it is the fuel). I only use Mobil or Shell as well. It's all bio blend around here.

I hope I is just some gelling from the crap bio diesel fuel. If I'm out a filter only, I will be happy. If I need a new pump, I will not be so happy. I did not have any issues last winter (minus a CEL scare).

Minus 20 degrees in Montana

This morning was -20F. No problems. Started & ran fine. about 6k miles on it. No fuel filter change yet. I do use a fuel additive as suggested by the local Ford dealer.

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me...like Vioney said...you don't have enough fuel pressure.
