Norfolk Southern called...they want their train bumper back...
I'd be willing to bet that if you bought an equivalent bumper, it'd be easily $3-4K. It looks good...looks like it was built by one of those uppity fab shops who charge alot. How much was the powdercoating?

I had a build thread step by step on how I built it actually.. I'd attatch a link but I'm on my i phone right now. Search " winch bumper build" it's in the offroad forum. You'll probably like the rear one I built as well.
Material was 3/16. Very strong but not stupid heavy like 1/4 would of been. You'll see I made it out of cardboard first to get a good visual on how I liked the look..

If I was to build another it would be so easy as I would measure the shapes and have them shear cut. This one was made piece by piece torch cut and ground in my backyard withnot even a proper steel table.
I'm a welder/ fabricator for a living so it kinda helped. I borrowed a magnetic base annular drill from work for the holes which made life easy...

Quickly running through that thread reminded me why I don't spend any time at all in the offroad forum. That alpha/omega guy is just a jacka... Yup - 1 guy (and the morons that choose to look up to him) keeps me from even bothering with that portion of the site.
And back on topic we go - nice looking bumper!

I know what you mean 73 ford guy, there is a forum I liked to go on but a group of guys look up to one guy, he is a nice guy and all but I think some of them want to have his baby or something (home brew forum). But anyhow real nice job on the bumper, you should be proud, your expertise shines through on that bumper.
