Here in Texas, we look out for our own and the state made sure of it too; that's why as of September 2008 we're allowed to carry guns in our vehicle with no permit required.

What this means: If I were to see someone breaking into my neighbor's truck or home, I could "put them down" as long as I can prove that they were breaking and entering. I love Texas...

Cool,it would make for an entertaining saturday night to set up a bait truck with lots of goodies inside and a fifty on the dash.

I don't believe that, even in Texas, you can simply shoot someone for breaking into a truck. That is second degree murder. As I understand it, you have the right to confront an intruder, and you have no obligation to retreat if they threaten you. That's not a right to shoot on sight.

1-easy to break the door lock (I've found that epoxy over the key slot solves that)
2-Trucks have tools that are valuable and easy to sell or if its a nice looking truck it probably has expensive stuff in it but not the alarm system as a beemer with the same $50k price tag
I can tell you that you can get a lot more money out of breaking into my toolbox than the cab of my truck.

The only downside about that is if you don't see them. Then they got the truck and a gun to stop someone from taking it back. Worse of all is the thought that the gun can be used in a violent crime because the owner left it in the truck.

I had mine broken into the other day. They popped the lock in. All that was taken was my gym bag with dirty clothes in it lol. They left my edge monitor, SCT, sunglasses, and my girlfriends wallet. I dont really get it. First thing i did was make sure my garage door openers were still there.

couple years ago 3 guys broke passengers window out and took some change, about $15.00. Smash and grab! I guess it only takes 3 to 4 seconds to smash the window and grab something of value GPS- mag lights-CD's-ect. I never leave anything of value in the truck any more. PLEASE LET ME CATCH THE NEXT S.O.B BREAKING INTO MY TRUCK!!!

Jimmi Jammers - waste of time, effort, money

Driving around I've also started to notice an awful lot of Ford trucks that have the punch hole under the door handle.

Just had my truck broke into for the second time...this time with Jimmi Jammers installed by the Ford Dealer. What a waste of time, money...and now, more damage to the door. What a waste!

sorry to hear that. I understand that Ford may have fixed the problem on new models but sure haven't helped us with older models . Totally disgusted with Fords response
