Super-cool ’66 Bronco SEMA 2019 Build Ready to Help Kids
Built by SEMA Garage with backing from WD-40, Bronco hits the auction block to raise funds for non-profit Childhelp.
The wait for the new Bronco is almost over, for it’s due to finally be unveiled in 2020 before hitting the showroom floor in 2021. Until then, though, we have to comfort ourselves with the coolest old-school Broncos around.
One such Bronco, though, will bring a lot of comfort to children in need. Bring a Trailer is helping to auction off a ’66 Bronco built for SEMA 2019 by SEMA Garage, with all proceeds going to Childhelp, a non-profit serving abused and neglected children.
Three years ago, WD-40 found this ’66 Bronco in Florida, The company then presented their find to SEMA Garage, who built it into the magnificent, squeak-free beast you see now.
The heart of the Bronco build is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, making 375 broncos and 450 lb-ft of torque. The engine is topped off with a custom carbon fiber engine cover, its rumble is carried through a MagnaFlow dual exhaust, and its power goes to the corners through a Ford six-speed automatic.
Outside, the Bronco is shod in a set of meaty 35-inch off-road tires, all wrapped around chrome American Racing wheels. Vented disc brakes stop the horse, whose body is lifted five inches for more clearance off the beaten path.
Inside the custom six-point roll cage, the new owner and their friends and family will enjoy the tan leather seats with custom houndstooth cloth inserts. The owner will also enjoy the long transfer case shifter planted within the custom 3D-printed center console, the wood steering wheel, and the WD-40-branded gauge contained within the blue steel dash.
Of course, the new owner and the rest of the crew are going to need a way inside the Bronco. Thus, a pair of retractable running boards make ingress and egress a breeze.
The overall package makes for one badass Bronco, sure to bring delight to one and all. The real winners of this auction, though, are the children under Childhelp’s care, who will benefit from the thousands of dollars raised in the organization’s fight against child abuse and neglect.
