Ford Raptor Going Global with Availability in China in 2017
The 2017 Ford Raptor is brushing up on its Mandarin, because it’s heading to China! That’s right, the new Ford Raptor in the SuperCrew configuration is going to be sold in China for the first time in 2017. An entirely new generation of off-road enthusiasts will no get to be inspired by one of the most badass pickup trucks on the planet.
“F-150 Raptor represents the very best of what Ford can accomplish with its world-class engineering and design teams, and its long history of building tough, capable and versatile trucks,” said Jamal Hameedi, global chief program engineer, Ford Performance. “We are thrilled to offer our customers in China the chance to experience new levels of off-road performance with the all-new F-150 Raptor.”
There’s a litany of reasons on why it makes sense to offer the Raptor in China. First, it’s the largest car market on the planet and people are itching to buy more. Secondly, it’s an American product being sold in China, which should make it desirable (and perhaps subject to counterfeiting). Lastly, the trucks are still being made in the United States (the Raptor in Dearborn, Michigan), which helps keep Americans busy little worker bees.
The Raptor joins the growing F-150 lineup, which in 2017 will be available in 96 different markets around the globe.
