Hennessey Venom 775 F-150: One Seriously Fast Supercharged Pickup
Hennessey Performance’s latest F-150 packs sports car performance wrapped up in an attractive, comfy package.
Those seeking a turnkey, drive-off-the-lot customized F-150 certainly don’t lack for choices. Everyone from Roush to Shelby builds and sells these lifted, high-horsepower pickups to the masses. Many of them straight off the dealer lot. That’s also true of Hennessey Performance’s latest and greatest F-150, dubbed the Venon 775. The only difference? These pavement-eating monsters are only available at Brown Lee Ford in Morrison, Tennessee. And Hennessey is only building 100 of them in total.
With a truck this wicked, exclusivity is certainly a nice throw-in benefit. And Brown Lee, being the country’s biggest seller of Ford Performance and specialty vehicles, seems like the perfect fit for this partnership. Thus, they were happy to answer all of our questions about the Venom 775 F-150 in this informative video. Not to mention gloat about it a little bit. “This is an incredible truck,” Brock Patterson, Brown Lee’s national specialty vehicle manager notes. “This thing is absolutely extraordinary.” Big words, indeed.
The tour starts up front, where you’ll find one of the few options that doesn’t come with these trucks to begin with. “The optional equipment includes this ram air hood, the (Venom) rear bumper, power boards, and the (custom) leather,” Patterson says. Otherwise, the Hennessey F-150 comes loaded to the hilt. That includes a Venom front bumper with LED lighting, as well as plenty of Venom 775 exterior badges and graphics.
The Venom 775 sits up high thanks to a 6″ lift kit with Fox shocks, and rolls on 35″ Toyo off-road tires. “And a beautiful, oh my God beautiful Fuel wheel,” Patterson gushes. “As soon as we saw this wheel, we knew this was going to be used on this project.” Fender flares cover up the new rolling stock, while a Borla catback exhaust system amplifies the glorious noises produced by the truck’s 5.0-liter Coyote V8. And if you need to slow this big truck down in a hurry, it’s even got massive 6-piston Brembo brakes.
As you might imagine, that stock mill has been treated to a serious infusion of power. Most of which comes from the addition of Whipple’s 2.9-liter supercharger. With a beefed up fuel system, new injectors, and Hennessey’s calibration, the engine produces a stout 775 horsepower. It also makes the truck capable of ripping off 4.0-second 0-60 runs and a 12.1-second quarter-mile. The F-150 even lays waste to a stock Mustang Shelby GT350 in the video below, which is undoubtedly impressive.
All of that, plus a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty makes the Hennessey Venom 775 F-150 quite the enticing proposition. Throw in some serious performance to match the F-150’s inherent utility, and you’ve got a pretty amazing all-around vehicle. Honestly, it’s pretty easy to see why these do-it-all tuner trucks have become so popular in today’s world.
