Ford Truck Enthusiasts Members Gather for ‘Truckstock’ 2019

Fans of 1948-1956 Ford trucks descended upon central Pennsylvania for unforgettable four-day weekend.

For those in the know (and we mean our members), the Ford Truck Enthusiasts forums are far more than just an internet-based sounding board. They’re also a great place to forge lifelong friendships with like-minded folks. In fact, many of our members plan and document meet ups and cruises there, along with major events. But we’ve never seen anything quite like “Truckstock,” a gathering that brought together a host of members and their 1948-1956 Ford trucks in Pennsylvania recently.

The event is something like the concert it’s named after, from what we can gather. This group of folks met up and camped out, even chowing down on some lobster and eggs. All the while, we presume, exchanging fascinating stories about their trucks. Next, the group took a cruise over to a shop containing a slew of vintage Fords, both of the truck and car variety.

Then it was on to driving some scenic PA roads, which we bet was quite the sight. Not just because of the beautiful scenery, of course. But because it isn’t every day you see a bunch of vintage Ford trucks rolling down the road together. Luckily, member Gicknordon provided us with some video clips of their cruise up Hyner View in Chapman Township.

Once at the top, the group of old Ford trucks gathered for a perfect group photo op. And by the sounds of the lucky few who were able to participate in this event, it sure seems like they had one heck of a time.

“I finally have the time to unwind from a great four day weekend of Truckstock,” said abe. “It was a wonderful time with great guys and awesome trucks. My only regret is that I had the only ’53-’56 era truck there. Seriously, monkey face, manure spreader, flat-six, OHV, Y-block, or a 429 stuffed in a ’48 F1, they were all great. Next year maybe we’ll have a flat-eight at TS. And Dennis will have his tranny fixed so we’ll have another Y-block there for sure. A lot of people to thank, but mostly Dennis and Diane for cooking breakfast for all who showed up!”

And for those who weren’t able to attend, at least we could live vicariously through these pictures and stories.

“Kudos to you, Abe, for organizing and hosting such a great event for the brethren,” said 52 Merc. “I know it’s a lot of work and one day I hope to be able to make one. It looks like a blast to hang out for a weekend with like-minded people who enjoy our incredible trucks. I also want to thank everyone for posting and sharing pictures and videos of the event. What fun you must have all had. We’re all living vicariously through them, and wish we were there. The lobster eggs really had me drooling. Maybe next year.”
