A good old ’80s 5.0 powers this gorgeous 1968 Ford Bronco restomod, which has been painted Ford Avalanche Grey.
It’s always gratifying to watch a project come together. This 1968 Ford Bronco restomod is one such project. The seller acquired the truck in non-running condition back in January 2016. Over the next three years, the truck went under an elaborate refurbishment process. Now, this breathtaking 1968 Ford Bronco restomod is ready for a new owner and is currently up for sale on popular auction site Bring a Trailer.
According to the listing, the bodywork of this Bronco was heavily modified. In addition to the rocker panels and cowl, the floor pans of the pickup were also replaced. The truck now sports a beautiful Ford Avalanche Grey paint job, offset by the satin black finish on the tailgate, windshield frame, and roof. The grille also gets the satin black treatment which helps highlight the red Ford lettering.
Furthermore, Tom’s Offroad bumpers dominate this truck’s front and rear profile. In addition to the LED headlights, illumination also comes from an LED light bar integrated into the front bumper. The truck rides on 17-inch Method Wheels, shod in 35-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires. The Bronco’s cut fenders with Gorilla War flares help accommodate the giant wheels.
The cabin of this 1968 Ford Bronco restomod features black bucket seats. Other creature comforts include a RetroSound stereo system which hooks up to pioneer speakers.
A 5-liter V8 motor sits under the hood of this Bronco restomod. The powerplant comes from a 1980s Ford Thunderbird. The engine gets a slew of performance upgrades, including an aftermarket air intake, an aluminum radiator, Holley Terminator X engine management system, and tubular exhaust headers, which hook up to a custom stainless steel exhaust system.
So far, we do not have any information regarding the performance figures of this Bronco. The 5-liter motor also comes mated to a Ford AOD four-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all four corners via a DANA 20 two-speed transfer case. The truck also gets a 3.5-inch suspension lift with Bilstein shocks. The auction for this Bronco ends in three days, and right now, the highest bid stands at $49,000.
