Got a call from the dealer Thursday about 5:00pm to come pick up my truck. When i got there i asked him what was going on. he told me the engineer from ford called the dealer asking for specific measurements. They gave him the numbers and he said "nothing wrong with frame or axle, bed and cab are off" so the dealer unbolted the bed and cab, lined up the bed evenly over the tires and arranged the cab inline with the bed and bolted everything down and called it done. The truck will be back at the dealer for a misaligned bed in a few weeks. Passenger side bumper is next to the sheet metal and the drivers side is 1" away. The battle continues.

I started the other tread about the tire sticking out past the wheel the box. my dealer was more worried about the survey then anything else. So he said get some wheel flares and he'll put the rust protection on the box only. I still haven't done either yet. They ordered me bushwackers that look like they are bolted on. I looked at a friends truck that has them on and they rub the fenders paint. So i don't think that they are the answer either still working it out I guess. I also went to another dealership and found most of the trucks like mine just verying amounts out. I find it hard to believe that they would build a truck like this. I like straight lines on my trucks!

It's not hard to believe. What will be hard to believe is the TSB that comes out saying it's normal.

If you look under my profile they are there. Not sure if I can move them to the tread.

Has the Ford dealer checked to see if the axle alignment pins and leaf pads on the axle were welded on wrong ? meaning to far over to one side . that would be my guess as to why its off set on the rear axle not frame alignment .

They didn't seem to concerned with them when I showed them. Thanks for sending them to me. The dealers truck has the same issue and he is fine with it. So I get the feeling that I should also be happy with it.

This is a bummer for those who have the deviation and cannot get straight answer from dealer (what else is new).

From the start, I have assumed there is some acceptable +/- tolerance on these beds or whatever and I let it go at that. But, I wish Ford would just tell us that, and what is is (in inches etc), and that our units, while off, are within the tolerance. We can complain about the tolerance amount (I wouldn't), but at least they would be giving us some explanation. Thanks

Call Ford and log a complaint. The more that do the more likely they will address it somehow.

i do hate to not go with the trend, but that really doesn't seem like that big of a problem. I agree when buying a new truck, it should be perfect, and Ford goofed here, but i don't think this slight defect will affect the truck in any way

I agree, while I don't like it, I think if you walk around any Ford vehicle you will see gaps and poor fitment that you feel should be fixed.
