We're having to pull the transmission on my 02 F350 to replace the front pump seal that leaks. I'm thinking of doing a transmission fluid and filter exchange.
Anyone using Valvoline Maxlife in their trucking in their trucks? I've read different things about whether it's suitable or not so I'm looking for real world experience.
MerconV is what is recommended. Mobil1 is compatible, I used Supertech MerconV which was the least expensive. I would also recommend the full Mark K flush.
Thankyou! I hate that the supertech stuff is not available in gallon jugs. Maxlife shows to be Mercon LV compatible.
It is Lv compatable but the spec for your truck is mercon v not Lv just keep in that mind because straight Lv is not compatible with your truck's trans if you dump that in there your gonna have a bad day. According to valvoline's site though it says it's suitable for use in ford applications that call for mercon mercon v mercon sp and mercon Lv so they are saying it should be fine. Your orginal spec was mercon which was replaced by mercon v.
