What Lurks Under the Hood of this Monster Ford F-100?
Pearlescent paint, an upgraded TCI suspension, a drag modified frame, custom chop, winner of a few national awards and featured in Classic Trucks magazine, and a 460 cubic inch Cobra Jet crate motor good for 500 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. That’s what you’d be getting if you’d buy this absolute monster of a Ford F-100 hotrod.
This 1953 F-100 is currently being sold by RK Motors Charlotte who specialize in classic muscle cars and trucks. The truck is turnkey, and just came off a four year, $285,000 restoration according to the seller. As stated above, this hotrod truck is ready to decimate the pavement thanks to a 560 cubic inch Cobra Jet crate motor directly from Ford.
The frame from the previous owner had already been beefed up in the hopes to take the project to the drag strip, but sadly, that owner never got the chance. The current owner and seller improved the already beefy frame with a greater amount of C-nothces and boxed in joints. And with 500 horsepower, the extra chassis stiffening definitely helps put the power down. That and the 275 Hankook Ventus AS tires out back.
Right now, the asking price for this amazing hotrod F-100 is $149,000, which seems a bit high, but given the level of restoration, and customization, it’s not a surprising number to start at. So, which one of you will be this F-100’s new owner?
